Welcome, fellow traveller, the official blog of the upcoming Textualities ’23 conference, being held on April 6th by the year’s crop of MA English students at University College Cork’s English Department.
This conference is an informal gathering held annually for the benefit of us poor struggling postgrads, to give us some miles beneath our wheels and get us used to presenting our work in a conference environment.
But fear not! Raw amateurs though we may be, we are still a group of bright and varied speakers who stand ready to regale you with a veritable smorgasbord of fascinating topics that will range from the distant past to the modern age.
The conference will be held as a series of four panels of three to five thematically-linked presenters, elegantly espousing on their chosen topic for a little over five minutes each in turn. Attendance is free, all guests are welcome, and the tea and buns are complimentary!
If you’re still uncertain, we invite you to keep an eye on this blog, where we’ll be showcasing interviews with our speakers-to-be and presenting more nuanced introductions to each of the four panels as the fated hour draws near.
So, if you have a few hours to kill on April 6th and want to spend them being edutained by the very finest, swing by the North Wing Council Room in UCC’s venerable Main Quad for Textualities ’23.
We look forward to seeing you there!
